Are you waiting for the special gift from Google on Christmas?
It’s unboxed. This time, the developers or Android app users would have moment to cheer. They’re likely to get 64-bit data architecture in their android phone app library. As far as security is concerned, the patches would no longer exist to let the hackers in & steal the data.
Google doesn’t want you to live insecurely in the digital landscape. However, customer satisfaction is its priority. And, it’s going an extra mile in it. But, the fear of an uncertain malware attack tends to overtake its efforts. If any fragment persists, a hacker can peep easily. Subsequently, pulling out your sensitive details would be a piece of meal for him.
Google’s Gift to Android Users-64-bit Support Since 2019
Except now-a-days devices, most of the android devices support 32-bit data processing. It was a standard of the erstwhile android devices. The width is widened to process more volume of data. The more space to filter through the data bus, the quicker data processing would be. Google is working hard in this direction.
Around 40% Android users are currently enjoying 64-bit fast processing. To stretch this ratio to a hundred percent, the web and app developers must come with the upgrade for future IT support.
Such long 64-bit app architecture was tracked in Android 5.0 for the first time. But later on, it became a trend. The developers need to submit a 64-bit in the native app libraries. It can be enveloped in APK files. The coolest thing with such apps is that they are compatible with the 32-bit android apps as well.
Security Metadata in APK:
The APK files act as a folder to let the installation of software occurs on the android operating system. Very soon, each APK file would carry security metadata at the top. It would authenticate that it has gone through the verification from the Google Play.
This verification will be automatically routed on all updated apps. The developers need not fight with their brain for that. The Google will embed it into the APK Signing Block. Despite the functionality would be unaffected, each android app would get an authentication mascot.
Target API Level Requirement
Therefore, the search engine has announced:
- Requirement of new apps to target API level 26 (Android 8.0) or higher till August
- Upgrade the old version of apps to target API level 26 or higher till November 2016.
- The targetSdkVersion will need to be advanced from 2019. New apps and their updates will need to target the parallel API level or more.
The developers would require upgrading the older version accordingly. Therefore, they must come with the improvised version of security, processing and user-friendly features. If they fail to comply with the announcement, their apps would no more be active in the native libraries. The rank one search engine is proactively busy in cutting down any possibility of fragmentation in the app ecosystem.
